Kristin Peters

Hi! I’m Kristin

I completed both my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and my Master of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University. During my studies, I had the opportunity to complete clinical placements in diverse areas such as orthopedics, pediatrics, cardiac rehab, and geriatrics. These experiences provided me with a broad and solid foundation in physiotherapy, equipping me with the skills to handle a wide range of patient needs and conditions.

My passion for sports injury management began through my involvement with the Dalhousie Tigers rugby and basketball teams during my academic years. As a trainer for those teams, I learned to combine my knowledge of injury care with my background in first aid and emergency management. By treating acute injuries and implementing effective rehabilitation programs, I have supported athletes in their recovery and performance optimization.

Since graduating, I have worked with over a dozen different sports at various levels, from local to international competitions. Currently, I am involved with volleyball and hockey teams around the city. My additional training in Manual Therapy and Neuro-Proprioceptive Taping, in addition to my certification as a Medical First Responder enhances my ability to provide comprehensive care to my patients.

My approach to physiotherapy is patient-centered, focusing on developing individualized and active treatment plans that help my patients achieve their goals. I am committed to providing high-quality care and education while continually enhancing my own skills.

Outside of my clinical and sports commitments, I am an active First Aid and Lifeguard Instructor, teaching at various pools in Halifax. I enjoy being outside,  often exploring new hiking trails or taking photos. My diverse interests and ongoing commitment to professional growth reflect my dedication to improving the health and well-being of my community.
