Jamie Turnbull

Hey, I'm Jamie Turnbull, and I grew up in St. Paul, NS. My family was athletic so I have been involved in sports my entire life ranging from gymnastics, softball, soccer, hockey, basketball, volleyball, and curling. I am an outdoor enthusiast and I love hiking, cycling, camping, and spending time on the beach.

My journey in the world of physiotherapy began in 2002, and since then I've been passionately helping people regain their strength, function and mobility. Before earning my degree in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University, I delved into the realms of biology and human kinetics at St. FX University, shaping my holistic understanding of the human body.

My approach to physiotherapy has been deeply influenced by my diverse experiences. I've had the privilege of working in multidisciplinary settings in vibrant cities like Toronto and Halifax. Additionally, my international ventures took me to physiotherapy clinics in the Netherlands and Australia, enriching my knowledge and broadening my perspective.

I have a keen interest in orthopedics, concussion management, neuropathic/nerve pain conditions, persistent pain conditions, cranial and mandibular pain disorders, as well as dysfunctions that require strength-based rehabilitation. I firmly believe that effective collaboration between a client and a physiotherapist is paramount in managing any condition. During our initial meeting, I encourage you to share your specific goals and expectations. This openness enables me to tailor my treatment approach precisely to your individual needs. In our one-on-one sessions, you'll receive my undivided attention, ensuring personalized care and focused support.

My treatment techniques are as varied as the conditions I encounter. Depending on your specific needs, I may employ methods such as manual therapy, neural tissue mobilization, Mulligan Technique, somatic exercises, functional dry needling, cranial mobilization techniques, concussion management exercises, vestibular treatment techniques, and progressive resistance training. Each technique is carefully selected to optimize your recovery journey.

I strongly believe in the power of knowledge. I am committed to helping you understand your body better—what it's trying to tell you and how it responds to different activities. My goal is not only to alleviate your current symptoms but also to empower you with the tools to manage them independently. I want you to leave our sessions feeling confident in your ability to self-manage your symptoms and prevent future injuries.

I am here to support you every step of the way, and I look forward to working together to achieve your health and wellness goals.
