Amie Lee

Hi! I’m Amie

I grew up in New Glasgow, NS and was, and still am, a lover of sports, staying active and helping people. I played soccer, basketball and figure skated.  But my skating days were done when I had an ankle fracture in High School …. TWICE.

My first step was Dalhousie University where I completed my undergrad in Kinesiology then on to Queen’s University for my Masters in Physical Therapy. I began working in private practice through the week and with a plethora of sports teams in the evenings and on weekends. Because of my commitment and continued studies in sport, I have completed both the Certificate and Diploma in Sport Physiotherapy; the highest level to be obtained. This now provides me the credentials Registered International Sport Physical Therapist, one of nine in the Atlantic Provinces.

Currently, I am the Physiotherapist with Badminton Canada and Sailing Canada working with their athletes on a regular basis. I have also been a member of the Hockey Canada Women’s National Program and have spent the last number of years working with both the Women’s Senior and U18 teams. I was named Hockey Canada’s Female Under 18 Team Physiotherapist and won a gold and silver medal with them at two World Championships! (Ask me to see the medals and the ring if you like!)

I have worked with the Halifax Rainmen/ Hurricanes (Basketball Team), Soccer Nova Scotia, Hockey Nova Scotia and even ran away with the Circus! I worked as a Performance Medicine Therapist (Physiotherapist) on tour with Cirque du Soleil’s TOTEM travelling across Canada, USA and Europe.

Through experience I have learned that to reach optimal performance, you must look beyond the symptoms and treat the whole person. My treatment philosophy promotes healthy living, wellness and enhancing performance through education, exercise and manual therapy.

I strive for activity modification rather than complete rest (when appropriate) to keep you engaged and on top of your game. Being sidelined from an injury sucks, I know, I was there. Let me help you get back to what you love.
